This privacy policy explains what information FlatRenter collects, how it is used, and your rights in relation to it. It applies to visitors and registered users of flatrenter.com.

Who we are

FlatRenter is a free tool site for renters and landlords, available at https://flatrenter.com. For any privacy-related queries, contact us at hello@flatrenter.com or via the contact form.

What information we collect

Account registration

When you create a FlatRenter account, we collect your first name and email address. This information is used to create and manage your account. You do not need an account to use most tools on the site.

Contact form

When you send us a message via the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. This is sent to us by email and is not stored on the site. We use it only to respond to your query.

Tool records

If you are logged in when you use a tool, the inputs and results of that calculation are saved to your account as a private record. These records are only visible to you. You can view and delete them from your account page.

Server logs

Like all websites, our server automatically logs standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the date and time of your request. These logs are used for security and to diagnose technical problems. They are not used to identify individual visitors and are deleted after 30 days.

Cookies

We use the following types of cookies on this site:

  • Session cookies: Set by WordPress to keep you logged in to your account. These are deleted when you close your browser.
  • Form cookies: Set by Forminator (the form plugin we use) to process form submissions securely. These are temporary and deleted after submission.
  • Advertising cookies: Set by Google AdSense to show relevant adverts. Google may use these to personalise ads based on your browsing activity across the web. You can manage your Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

  • Google AdSense — displays advertising on free tools. Google Privacy Policy.
  • Stripe — processes payments for pay-as-you-need tool outputs. Stripe does not share your payment data with us beyond what is needed to confirm a transaction. Stripe Privacy Policy.
  • ManageWP — used for hosting and site management. Has access to site infrastructure but not to individual user data. ManageWP Privacy Policy.

How long we keep your data

  • Account data: Kept until you delete your account.
  • Tool records: Kept until you delete them or close your account.
  • Contact form messages: Kept in our inbox for up to 12 months, then deleted.
  • Server logs: Deleted after 30 days.

Your rights

UK and EU residents (UK GDPR)

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected if it is inaccurate, have it deleted, restrict how we use it, and receive a copy of it in a portable format. You also have the right to object to processing and to withdraw consent at any time.

To make a request, contact us at hello@flatrenter.com. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, request that we delete it, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, contact us at hello@flatrenter.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
